Osteopathic Manual Therapy focuses on total body wellness, considering all aspects of the human condition, visceral, lymphatic, vascular, respiratory, digestive, hormonal, neural, emotional. Osteopathic Manual Therapy utilizes soft tissue techniques, as well as craniosacral, lymphatic drainage, visceral manipulation, trigger point therapy, muscle energy techniques, myofascial release.
The craniosacral system is comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord, our central nervous system. Our central nervous system has great influence over our health.
Everyday your body endures physical, mental, emotional stresses and for a time your body can compensate and adapt. Eventually there comes a time where it cannot, and tissues begin to tighten. Craniosacral Therapy releases restrictions and tensions deep in the body that cause pain and dysfunction and restrict healing.
Gentle Trauma Resolution is an important element in the Foundation of Craniosacral Therapy. Emotional trauma and stress build up overtime and create a physical imbalance in the tissue as well as life. Practitioners are trained to help the body release these imbalances, helping relieve the nervous system of the tension and strain it carries. Awareness of how our emotions affect our health is key to many dysfunctions. Exploration of this approach is often the piece we have been missing.
